Nomination petition forms for the April 9, 2013 school board election in Dixon Unit Schools District #170 are now available.  Forms may be picked up in the office of the board secretary, Mrs. Roxanne Mahan, located at the administrative office, located at 1335 Franklin Grove Road, Dixon, IL 61021 on any business day between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  

A school board candidate’s petition must be filed in the same office no earlier than 7:30 a.m., on Monday, December 17, 2012 and no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday, December 24, 2012.  

Candidates’ names will appear on the election ballot in the order in which their nominating papers are received at the secretary’s office.

Mrs. Elizabeth Bushman, a 5th grade teacher at Jefferson School and Mrs. Vanessa Rubright, a health assistant at Jefferson School, were honored at the May 16, 2012 Board meeting as the recipients of the Employees of the Year awards for the 2011-12 school year. Both Mrs. Bushman and Mrs. Rubright were selected by their peers and the Employee of the Year selection committee and commended for their dedication to the students at Dixon Unit School District.

SWAP work will officially begin on Monday, June 4th.  127 parents and students attended last night's SWAP presentation in the Auditorium at DHS.  We thank everyone for attending, and look forward to another productive SWAP season.  If you were unable to attend last night's informational meeting, the PowerPoint presentation can be found in the SWAP Information area under the student tab on our website.

Mrs. Sward will be contacting students in the near future to start scheduling shifts.  Please remember that it is the student's responsibility to contact Mrs. Sward with any work schedule needs or changes.  Mrs. Sward can be reached at RMS by calling 284-7725 between the hours of 8 am and 3 pm Monday through Friday, and at 677-1702 at other times.
