Meeting Minutes: April 19th, 2010
7:00 p.m. ~ Washington School Library

Members in Attendance:  Mr. Jeff Gould, Vanessa Ankney, Kristie South, Brenda Drezen, Marce Piller, Brandi Snyder, Mandy Dallas, Nikki Kratzner, Katherine Shuey, Diana Morley, Brenda Brown, Stacie McCullough, Amanda Thomas, Kim Stanley and Kim Munson.

The secretary’s report was approved as written.
The treasurer’s report was approved as written.

Spring pictures went well at all three schools. Marce Piller suggests adding a third photographer for Washington, as it takes longer to prepare the younger children for their pictures.

Our Spring fundraiser will be Butter Braids. Orders will be taken 4/21 – 5/5. Delivery will be on Wednesday, 5/19. Parent volunteers are needed to help in sorting orders, beginning at 1:45 on 5/19. Orders will be picked up at Washington School.

May 3rd through May 7th is Teacher Appreciation Week. On Wednesday, 5/5, PTO will provide a Teacher Luncheon at all 3 elementary schools. Vanessa Ankney will order sandwiches for all 3 schools from Oliver’s. Motion to fund this was made by Vanessa Ankney and seconded by Marce Piller. School chairpersons will call parent volunteers to provide salads and desserts.

Ideas were discussed for our Fall fundraiser, including the following: Folsom’s cookie dough; a family activity night; a plant sale; and students’ artwork made into various home goods, such as mugs, quilts, etc.

In order to provide equal funding for all grade levels, we may set a certain amount of money for programs per school. This would begin during the 2010 – 2011 school year, and it will allow teachers to plan ahead and coordinate their school’s programs, while knowing ahead of time exactly how much money is available.

Washington School requested $350 for a live animals presentation, to be held during their Reading Week.

Mrs. Dallas shared thank-you’s from several classes, which were appreciative of the Theatreworks play presented in February at Washington School.

There will be a cookout on Saturday, 4/24, at Wyanet Meats, from 11:00 – 2:00. Proceeds will benefit Children’s’ Advocacy Centers.

Officer elections have been tabled until our May meeting.

Our next and final meeting for this year will be on Monday, 5/24, at 7:00 p.m., in the Washington School library.

Submitted by Kim Munson, Secretary.
