Treasurer’s Report: Fundraiser deposit of approximately $21,000
Secretaries Report: Minutes are posted on the Dixon PTO Facebook page and on the DPS website. To view the minutes go to Facebook and Like Dixon PTO or go to www.dixonschools.org under “Parents” then click “Parent news and information.”
Principals’ Reports:
Ms. Johnson: Violin concert was a success and enjoyed by all in attendance. Veterans Day assembly was even better than previous years; A great tribute to our veterans. Students from Lincoln performed for the school board meeting. Students will perform a play at 8 a.m. on December 19th. All are invited to attend.
Mr. Rick: The Rainforest presentation and the Give a Mouse a Cookie play were a huge success. The students and staff really enjoyed both.
Mr. Gould: Nothing to report

Old Business:
Leydig Center Meal: Tina Adcock and Cindy Frey
Fall Spirit Wear: All orders have been sent. Tried to get headbands, but they were not available. So, pink and purple stocking caps were offered.
Rain Forest Presentations: Sold Out! Standing room only! Discussed possibly using a bigger venue next year. Discussed having 2 showings. Discussed using PTO volunteers for the event. Will discuss more next fall.
Fall Fundraiser: Raised $21,000 which is up from $13,900 last fall. RMS almost tied Washington for top seller. Thanks to the many volunteers for help with adding the orders and distributing. All orders had been picked up at the time of this meeting. (new record?)
Library Volunteers: All schools are in need of volunteers. You don’t need to schedule a time or day. If you find an extra hour in your day, stop into one of the schools. They will find something for you to do. Discussed sending notes home or having school reps call parents to get more volunteers.

New Business:
Holiday Parties: Parties at all schools start at 1:00 p.m. This time is set by administration, not by PTO.
Movie Night: Family movie night will be Friday, January 25th. We will show “Brave.” Doors open at 5:30, movie starts at 6:00. All students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Concessions will be available and run by the DHS Key Club. Door prizes will be given. More information will be discussed at the December PTO meeting.

Teacher Requests:
Lincoln: Ellison die cuts that support curriculum with a cost of $970---Unanimously Approved
Kari Brauman: Pre-K field trip to the Discovery Center in Rockford in May for $895---Unanimously Approved
8th Grade Springfield Trip: Total cost will be $5890. Previously allocated $3000 from last year. Requesting increase of $2890. Unanimously approved $890, charge students $10 (instead of $15) and permission slip will include a space for families to donate additional funds for those in need.

Open Discussion:
Should we include RMS in the Spring spirit wear order? This was declined in previous years because RMS colors are red, white, and blue. However, it was mentioned that all RMS students are still Dixon Public School students and will be moving onto DHS where the colors are purple and white. Most agree that RMS should be included in the spring spirit wear order. We will discuss more as the time approach’s.
