School Bell Schedules

Regular Schedule 7:45-2:15
Half Day Schedule 7:45-11:00

Wednesday Schedule

Dear Dixon High School Parents,

The purpose of this letter is to inform you of an exciting new strategy that we are implementing this year at Dixon High School in order improve student achievement.  Beginning August 27th, Wednesday’s only schedule at Dixon High School will be:

E.B.                 6:55 – 7:25

1st                    8:30 – 9:12

2nd                   9:16 – 9:58

3rd                    10:02 – 10:44

4th                    10:48 – 11:30

5 A lunch         11:30 – 12:00

   A class          12:04 – 12:45

   B lunch          12:15 – 12:45

   B class          11:34 – 12:15

6th                     12:49 - 1:30

7th                     1:34 – 2:15

Our plan is to create an incentive for students who keep their grades above a D+.  Specifically, students who earn grades above a D+ will not be required to attend school until 8:30 a.m. on Wednesdays only.  Students with grades below a C- will be required to sign in at 7:45 a.m. in the cafeteria to receive help from staff, retake assessments, work in the computer lab, or study.  These options are available for all students, but not required for those earning grades above a D+.   Busses will run at their regularly scheduled times and any student may come to Dixon High School at their normal time.

The cafeteria, computer lab, and library will be available to all students who wish to work on homework, retake assessments, conduct research, or study.  Teachers will not be available from 7:30 – 8:20 due to training on best practice in the classroom, but support staff will be available for student assistance.  I believe that this time can be valuable to students if utilized appropriately.  If you have any questions, please contact me.  Have a great school year.

Respectfully,

Dr. Michael L. Grady
