April 2013 Dixon High School is proud to release the names of the students who have been selected to the April Hall of Fame. Students are selected monthly from various departments because they displayed one or more of the following characteristics: 1) consistent hard work and effort, 2) outstanding attitude toward the subject, 3) leadership, and/or 4) class participation. Stastny's Class Builds Bird Houses Print

At Dixon High, Mrs. Stastny's 6th hours class assembled bird houses with Mrs. Banks their speech and language therapist. The group worked in pairs putting the houses together which improved communication and team work. This activity promoted problem solving by figuring out the sequence of assembling the project. Everyone's confidence was improved along with learning new job skills for the future. After the houses were assembled, everyone used their creativity to paint them in their own unique style. The students are looking forward to taking them home to hang outside for the birds.
 
DHS Student to sing National Anthem at State Finals Print

Congratulations to DHS Senior, Michael Barth, for his selection on the IMEA list of National Anthem Selectees.  In honor of this selection, Michael is slated to sing the National Anthem at the Boys Baseball State Final Tournament on Saturday, June 8, at Silver Cross Field in Joliet.  He will sing at 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
