Thought for the Day: The best way to start a conversation is with a smile.

1. All students who drive to school must register their vehicles in the main office.

2. Reminder to ALL students – If you are ill and need to go home, you must come to the nurse’s office to call a parent to get permission to go home.

3. All students and staff are reminded to nominate those they see go above and beyond for DHS. On Fridays, Mr. Tennyson will draw the names for prizes. If you are wearing purple and white, you will receive an extra prize! Go Dixon! The nomination box is in the main office.

4. The Dixon Pride Committee will be recognizing classes that have no tardies for the week. Teachers, let Mr. Tennyson know if your class has no tardies for the week and he will have a treat for them on Monday.

5. Students - Wednesday, August 31st  is the last day to change classes. Any classes dropped after Wednesday will be replaced by a study hall.

6. Attention Freshmen – If you are interested in running for a class office, please pick up a petition in the main office. The petitions must be turned in to the main office by Thursday, Sept. 1. The positions available are President, Vice-President and Secretary/Treasurer.

7. If you ordered a 2011 yearbook, you may pick it up after school in the cafeteria. A very limited number of extra copies will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Please see Mrs. Bally in room 206A.

8. Any DHS student interested in auditioning for Madrigals, auditions will be held next week, Tues. and Wed., Sept. 6 & 7. See Mrs. Ewers in the choir room, 133, for audition materials and an audition time. Madrigals are open to ALL DHS students and meet twice a week after school for the first semester. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Ewers before school or anytime in the morning.

9. Come join Leo Club! The first meeting is September 1st at 7:15 a.m. in the cafeteria.

Dixon Public Schools, in cooperation with the community, will provide students with a comprehensive educational program that produces well-educated, self-sufficient, and involved citizens.
