Thought for the Day: People are lonely because they build walls instead of bridges.

1. All students who drive to school must register their vehicles in the main office.

2. Students - Wednesday, August 31st is the last day to change classes. Any classes dropped after Wednesday will be replaced by a study hall.

3. Attention Freshmen – If you are interested in running for a class office, please pick up a petition in the main office. The petitions must be turned in to the main office by Thursday, Sept. 1. The positions available are President, Vice-President and Secretary/Treasurer.

4. Any DHS student interested in auditioning for Madrigals, auditions will be held next week, Tues. and Wed., Sept. 6 & 7. See Mrs. Ewers in the choir room, 133, for audition materials and an audition time. Madrigals are open to ALL DHS students and meet twice a week after school for the first semester. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Ewers before school or anytime in the morning.

5. Come join Leo Club! The first meeting is September 1st at 7:15 a.m. in the cafeteria.

6. Attention BLIND leaders- There will be a meeting Thursday morning at 7:15a.m. in Room 405 to prepare for the upcoming freshmen retreat. Please attend if you can, and see Mr. Padilla in Room 405 if you cannot. If you have spoken with Mr. Padilla recently about being a BLIND leader, you SHOULD attend this meeting. 

7. Student Council will meet Wednesday, August 31st at 7:15 a.m. in room 117.

8. There will be a boy’s basketball meeting on Wednesday at 2:25 p.m. in room 203. See Coach Mead with any questions.

9. Back to School Night will be Thursday, September 1st at 6:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for your parents to go through your schedule and meet your teachers.

10. Girls basketball open gym will be held every Sunday, Monday and Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at DHS. Go Duchesses!

11. The Girls Tennis Team beat Princeton 5-4 yesterday. Good job girls!

12..Attention students! Looking for a job and interested in learning more about electronics such as computers, phones, keyboards, stereo equipment, etc.? Secure Recycling Services is offering positions to students who are eager to Learn new skills and even earn a certificate. For more information see Mr. Eddy in room 305.

13. Mike Roberts will be here this Friday, September 2nd to size rings from 7:00-7:45am in the cafeteria. Anyone who ordered a ring and has not picked it up yet should see Mrs. Loescher before Friday in case they want to have adjustments made to their rings.


TODAY (8/30)

Clash at the Castle tonight! Pack the place purple night for Duchesses Volleyball. Come out and support the volleyball team tonight wearing your purple! It is throw back night, so Soph & Varsity will be playing in the old gym with Freshman playing in the new gym! Games start at 5pm.

If you ordered a 2011 yearbook and did not pick it up yesterday, you may pick it up after school today in front of the main office. If you have questions, see Mrs. Bally in room 206A.
