Thought for the Day: One thing worse than a quitter is the person who is afraid to begin.

1. Any DHS student interested in auditioning for Madrigals, auditions will be held next week, Tues. and Wed., Sept. 6 & 7. See Mrs. Ewers in the choir room, 133, for audition materials and an audition time. Madrigals are open to ALL DHS students and meet twice a week after school for the first semester. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Ewers before school or anytime in the morning.

2. Attention students! Looking for a job and interested in learning more about electronics such as computers, phones, keyboards, stereo equipment, etc.? Secure Recycling Services is offering positions to students who are eager to Learn new skills and even earn a certificate. For more information see Mr. Eddy in room 305.

3. Dixon Pride Club will meet Tuesday, September 6th at 7:15 in room 120. All current members and any students interested in joining are encouraged to attend.

4. The Girls Tennis match on Tuesday will be at Rochelle. The bus leaves at 2:30.

5. The DHS Golf Team beat LaSalle-Peru last night by one stroke, 273-274. Kyle Dillon was low score for the Dukes. Way to go guys!

6. The DHS Student Council would like you to join their ranks. If you would like to help with Homecoming, the blood drives, or any of the other Student Council activities, you are welcome to join. Meetings are on Wednesdays at 7:15 in room 117 (near the cafeteria)
