Homecoming Week
Career Day!

MENU
Touchdown Crisper
Carrots w/Dip
Pineapple

Thought for the Day: Be prepared – You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

1. There will be a meeting for all boys interested in playing baseball next spring, on Thursday, October 6 at 11:15 in the cafeteria.

2. You may never think of yourself as the answer to someone’s prayer, but every time you donate blood, you are! Every time you donate, you help save a person’s life – a mother, a child, a brother. There is no bigger difference you can make in a person’s life than giving them life itself. The hour it takes you to give blood could even save up to three lives. The fall blood drive is Friday, October 14th.

3. Eat lunch in the cafeteria during Homecoming Week and if the timer goes off, your name will be entered into the basket drawing. The drawing will be Wednesday.

4. Picture re-takes have been re-scheduled to October 13th, not the 6th.

5. Dixon Pride Committee would like to congratulate Mrs.Fitzanko and Stephanie Garza this week. Remember to nominate students and staff you see go above and beyond for DHS.

6. The Dixon Pride store will be open starting this week on Tuesdays and Thursdays during both lunches and Friday after school. Come get your purple and white gear! There are purple sunglasses for $5, purple beads 2 for $1, shorts for girls and guys, new bags, and purple and white Mohawk hair. Come take a look at the new fleece jackets for winter. Any questions see Mrs. Guenther or Mr. Tennyson.

7. Dixon Pride Club will meet Tuesday in room 120 at 7:15 a.m. Be there and bring a friend!

8. Juniors – This is the last week to sign up for the PSAT/NMSQT that will be administered on October 12th. Sign up and pay the $16 fee to Mrs. Bellows in the G. O.

9. LONDON FOR SPRING BREAK: there is still time to sign up for the trip to England this April. See Mr. Padilla in Room 405 for details asap.

10. A representative from Monmouth College will be here at 8:00 Tuesday to speak with interested seniors. Sign up in the G. O.

TODAY

Dodgeball teams, don't forget there is a mandatory meeting in Mr. Eddy's room (305) right after school. One representative from each team needs to be present, not the whole team! It will not last very long. The sooner you get there, the sooner you will leave!

Attention Soccer Players – Practice time today is 3:30-4:30 with the team dinner to follow.

Atttention Key Clubbers – Fanny May orders are due today in room 120 to Mr. Eastman.

Boys basketball open gym tonight is cancelled due to dodgeball. Open gyms this week are Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Check the calendar for times.

Dixon Public Schools, in cooperation with the community, will provide students with a comprehensive educational program that produces well-educated, self-sufficient, and involved citizens.
