Homecoming Week
Color Wars Day

MENU
The Duke Burger
Tri Tator
Cinnamon Applesauce
Cheeseburger or Popcorn Chicken Basket

Thought for the Day: Fanatic – A person who is enthused about something in which you have no interest.

1. There will be a meeting for all boys interested in playing baseball next spring, on Thursday, October 6 at 11:15 in the cafeteria.

2. You may never think of yourself as the answer to someone’s prayer, but every time you donate blood, you are! Every time you donate, you help save a person’s life – a mother, a child, a brother. There is no bigger difference you can make in a person’s life than giving them life itself. The hour it takes you to give blood could even save up to three lives. The fall blood drive is Friday, October 14th.

3. Eat lunch in the cafeteria during Homecoming Week and if the timer goes off, your name will be entered into the basket drawing. The drawing will be Wednesday.

4. Picture re-takes have been re-scheduled to October 13th, not the 6th.

5. The Dixon Pride store will be open starting this week on Tuesdays and Thursdays during both lunches and Friday after school. Come get your purple and white gear! There are purple sunglasses for $5, purple beads 2 for $1, shorts for girls and guys, new bags, and purple and white Mohawk hair. Come take a look at the new fleece jackets for winter. Any questions see Mrs. Guenther or Mr. Tennyson.

6. Juniors – This is the last week to sign up for the PSAT/NMSQT that will be administered on October 12th. Sign up and pay the $16 fee in the G. O.

7. LONDON FOR SPRING BREAK: There is still time to sign up for the trip to England this April. See Mr. Padilla in Room 405 for details asap.

8. The Boys Bowling Team is having a pre-season cook-out on October 9th at 1:00 p.m. at the Lions Shelter in Lowell Park. Bring your parents, a dish to pass and lawn chairs. Call Allen Wickert, 716-0021 for questions.

9. A representative of Sauk Valley College will be in the Guidance Office at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday to answer questions for seniors. Sign up in the G.O.

10.Parade and Bonfire are tomorrow. Parade starts at 7:30 with the bonfire to follow. Student Council invites all students and public to attend the parade. The bonfire is for DHS students only.

11.Congrats to Back 2 Back for winning the annual Homecoming Dodgeball tournament last night. A good time was had by all!

12.Please help support the local Dixon Food Pantry. Bring your canned goods to the main office on Wednesday, October 5th to support the local food pantry.

13 Attention all seniors who have servants! The elevator is OFF limits and may NOT be used tomorrow during servant day.

14.Come celebrate Teen Read Week at the Dixon Public Library! Starting Monday, October 3, anyone between the ages of 13 and 19 may fill out one entry ticket for each item they check out until Saturday, October 22 for the chance to win a prize. The only thing you need to participate is a valid library card. For more information visit the public library.library.org

Dixon Public Schools, in cooperation with the community, will provide students with a comprehensive educational program that produces well-educated, self-sufficient, and involved citizens.
