Thought for the Day: Don’t be discouraged – it’s usually the last key in the bunch that opens the lock.

1. You may never think of yourself as the answer to someone’s prayer, but every time you donate blood, you are! Every time you donate, you help save a person’s life – a mother, a child, a brother. There is no bigger difference you can make in a person’s life than giving them life itself. The hour it takes you to give blood could even save up to three lives. The fall blood drive is Friday, October 14th.

2. Picture re-takes have been re-scheduled to October 13th.

3. Come celebrate Teen Read Week at the Dixon Public Library! Starting Monday, October 3, anyone between the ages of 13 and 19 may fill out one entry ticket for each item they check out until Saturday, October 22 for the chance to win a prize. The only thing you need to participate is a valid library card. For more information visit the public library.

4. Blind members: We will meet Thursday, October 13 at our regular time.

5. Scholastic bowl team will begin practice Wed., October 12 at 3PM in Room 405.

6. Attention Tennis Girls – Please turn in equipment and saver card money asap.

7. The Dixon Dukes basketball program would like to congratulate Cal Jarrett for passing the "green light test." Great job, and go Dukes!

8. Golf Results - Austin Dillon and Dan Pultorak just missed advancing as individuals to the state tournament by shooting 79 and 81 respectively. Congratulations to Austin and and Dan for their great individual seasons.

Dixon Public Schools, in cooperation with the community, will provide students with a comprehensive educational program that produces well-educated, self-sufficient, and involved citizens.
