Thought for the Day: The dictionary is the only place where success comes before work.

1. You may never think of yourself as the answer to someone’s prayer, but every time you donate blood, you are! Every time you donate, you help save a person’s life – a mother, a child, a brother.  There is no bigger difference you can make in a person’s life than giving them life itself.  The hour it takes you to give blood could even save up to three lives.  The fall blood drive is Friday, October 14th.

2. Picture re-takes will be October 13th.

3. Come celebrate Teen Read Week at the Dixon Public Library! Starting Monday, October 3, anyone between the ages of 13 and 19 may fill out one entry ticket for each item they check out until Saturday, October 22 for the chance to win a prize. The only thing you need to participate is a valid library card. For more information visit the public library.

4. Blind members:  We will meet Thursday, October 13 at our regular time.

5. Dixon Pride Club would like to congratulate Mandy Kent for her outstanding career in tennis while at DHS. Mandy recently broke the school record with her 119 career combination singles/doubles win. Congratulations Mandy!

6. Tennis Girls – If you ordered sweatshirts, please get the $24 to Kayla Wilson or Molly Ginn asap. Also, please turn in equipment and and saver card money.

7. Educators of Beauty will have a representative in the Guidance Office at 10:00, Thursday. Interested seniors should sign up in the G.O.

8. There is a 3 on 3 basketball tournament on Friday, October 28. Prizes will be awarded to winners. It will be a fun night. See Mr. Mead in room 203 to sign up or if you have any questions.

TODAY (10/12)

Scholastic bowl team will begin practice at 3 p.m. room 405.

There will be an organizational meeting for all girls interested in playing softball, today at 5:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.
