Thought for the Day: The best lightening rod for your protection is your own spine.

1. The winter sports meeting will be Wednesday, October 26th at 5:30 p.m. in the gym. Athletes and parents who have not attended a sports meeting this year should plan to attend.

2. Are you looking for a job? A local business is looking for a junior or senior who is available for work every afternoon. This opportunity could turn into long term, full- time employment. For more details, see Mr. Eddy in room 305.

3. Congratulations to Mr. Eastman and Kari Ludlow, winners of the Dixon Pride Award this week. Students and staff, remember to nominate those you see go above and beyond for DHS.

4. LONDON FOR SPRING BREAK: There is still time to sign up for the April trip to London. Interested students should see Mr. Padilla in Room 405 for information, and students not signed up should sign up before Oct 31. The price will DRASTICALLY increase after Nov 1.

5. Don't forget to register for the 3 on 3 basketball tournament with Coach Mead in Room 203. The tournament is Friday night from 7 until 9.

6. There is open gym for boys basketball this week.

7. The Duchesses Volleyball team will begin tournament play tonight against Freeport. Game time is 5:30 and the cost is $4. Activity passes are not valid.

8. Reagan Middle School 6th grade teachers will be working at McDonald’s Tuesday night from 4:00 to 8:00 to raise funds for 6th grade classrooms. Come support them.
