Thought for the Day: The key is not to to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.

1. The Elks Club is offering scholarships to children or grand-children of Elks members. Go to www.elks.org/enf/scholars for more information. The National Elks Foundation is offering a Most Valuable Student scholarship. Applications are in the Guidance Office.

2. Hey DHS musically inclined students – The class officers are hosting a Battle of the Bands! Sign up and money are due by November 11th.

3. Sauk Valley College will host a College Night on Tuesday, November 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the West Mall. Over 80 reps from colleges, technical schools and the military will be available to answer your questions. There will be a Financial Aid presentation at 6:00 in room 1K4.

4. BLIND Shoe Drive: Congratulations to Mrs. Beck and Mrs. Kirchner's sixth hour class for winning the shoe drive with 80 pairs of shoes, and to Mrs. Hansen's sixth hour for finishing second with 52. The response to the drive was enormous and over 800 shoes were collected. Over 16 classrooms took part. The BLIND leaders of DHS would like to thank everyone who participated.

5. There are boys’ basketball open gyms on Tuesday and Wednesday 3-5 p.m., Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 6-8 p.m. The season starts Monday, November 7. Also, If you missed Sunday’s meeting, please sign up for boy’s basketball in Coach Mead’s room (203). All boy’s basketball players must get a picture taken in room 203 in a shirt and tie this week.

6. The Dixon Pride Club will meet Tuesday at 7:15 a.m. in room 120.

The Math Team will have an informational meeting today after school in Room 303. If you are unable to attend, please stop by to speak with Mrs. Anderson.
