Thought for the Day: The difficulties in life are intended to make us better, not bitter.

1. Come to the library for MORNING MOVIES from 7:30 am to 7:45 am. Hope to see you bright and early!

2. Become a part of Dixon's history. The Dixon High School Senior Class Officers of 2011 will be burying a time capsule on Saturday, November 26th, at 11:00 a.m. at Dixon's Riverfront near the "Reagan on a Horse" statue. The time capsule contains letters and items from Dixon students, community members, businesses, elected officials, colleges, President Reagan memorabilia and a letter from Nancy Reagan. During the half hour program local dignitaries will speak to the significance of celebrating Ronald Reagan's 100th Birthday with the placement of the time capsule and what will be done with the contents when the capsule is opened 50 years from now when we celebrate President Ronald Reagan's 150th birthday in 2061. Everyone is invited to attend this historic event.

3. Congratulations to the DHS scholastic bowl team for their 7th place finish at the Sterling Invite on Saturday. Brian Jacobs set the school record for most toss-ups in a one-day competition with 49 correct answers in 9 matches! Congratulations to the whole team.

4. The price for a 2012 yearbook will go up from $45 to $50 starting Monday, Nov. 28. Buy your yearbook today. See Mrs. Loescher or Mrs. Bally.

5. Student Council would like to thank all who contributed to the annual food drive. The winning class was Mrs. Fitzanko's followed by Mrs. Gingras's class. Again, thank you to all who helped in any way to make this food drive a success!
