Thought for the Day: Try to fix the mistake, not the blame..

1. Student Council is sponsoring our annual Mitten Tree which is located in the cafeteria. You may donate any new or lightly used mittens, scarves, or stocking hats until Friday.

2. Students who owe more than $4 in the cafeteria will not be allowed to eat until they pay their balance.

3. The Choir Department will present its annual Holiday Concert, on Thursday, December 15th, at 7pm. This year will be our 6th year collecting Toys for Tots. There will be a donation barrel in the main office till the time of the concert.

4. The Library will be closed Friday, December 16th all day for renovation. All overdue library books must be returned for students to attend the Winter Formal.

5. There is a scholarship for a senior who has an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher, plans to attend a four-year accredited academic institution, is a U.S. citizen and has a household income no greater than $70,000. Applications are available online at www.greenhousescholars.org.

6. The Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation will offer a scholarship to seniors, pursuing a major in agriculture or agricultural-related field of study. Applications are available in the G.O. or online at www.leecfb.org .

7. The Sara Elizabeth Stubblefield Memorial Scholarship will provide financial support for the pursuit of higher education to a student living with epilepsy. The applicant must be under a physician's care. Applications are in the G.O.

8. The ARC of Lee County is offering a scholarship to seniors who will be entering a field related to people with disabilities. Apps are in the G.O.

9. LONDON FOR SPRING BREAK: Any students wishing to join the trip to London over Spring Break, please see Mr. Padilla in Room 405 as soon as possible for information.

10.Students who took the PSAT/NMSQT can pick up their scores in the GO.

11.The next Parent Academy will be offered for parents of DHS and RMS students on Tuesday, January 3rd at 6:30 P.M. in the DHS auditorium. The presentation will be titled " WHAT YOUR KIDS KNOW ABOUT DRUG AND ALCOHOL USE THAT YOU DON'T". It is sponsored by the Lee County Juvenile Justice Council and The Dixon Pride Team. The two main presenters will be from Sinnissippi Centers and LSSI and it should be an excellent presentation. There will be a student panel and a panel of local experts.

12.The start time for the 12/16 Sophomore boys basketball game is 5:30. The Varsity will still begin around 7:30. The RMS boys teams will be introduced and the 8th graders will scrimmage between games. Come out and support our Dukes!

13. BLIND will meet at 7:15 a.m. in room 405 Thursday.


TODAY

The Math Team will have practice today in room 303 from 3:00-3:30. There will also be a team picture taken so arrive by 3:00.
