Thought for the Day: Life is like a 10 speed bike – we all have gears we don’t use.

1. The next Parent Academy will be offered for parents of DHS and RMS students on Tuesday, January 3rd at 6:30 P.M. in the DHS auditorium. The presentation will be titled " WHAT YOUR KIDS KNOW ABOUT DRUG AND ALCOHOL USE THAT YOU DON'T". It is sponsored by the Lee County Juvenile Justice Council and The Dixon Pride Team. The two main presenters will be from Sinnissippi Centers and LSSI and it should be an excellent presentation. There will be a student panel and a panel of local experts.

2. The Leo Club is holding a used eyeglass collection. Please drop your used glasses in the collection box in the main office. Glasses will be used to provide people throughout the world corrective eyeglasses. The Leo Club and Lions Club thank you.

3. The Twin Cities Educational Scholarship is available to Latino students who will be attending a 4 year school or Sauk Valley College. Parents of recipients must be willing to assist with fundraisers during the year.

4. Congratulations to Officer LaMendola, Haley Thorpe and Josie Willett, winners of the Dixon Pride Award this past week. Students and staff, remember to nominate those you see go above and beyond for DHS.

5. Seniors – Your final exam exemption forms are due Tuesday by 3:00. No exceptions.

Dixon Public Schools, in cooperation with the community, will provide students with a comprehensive educational program that produces well-educated, self-sufficient, and involved citizens.
