Thought for the Day: Sometimes the things you can’t change end up changing you.

1. There are two new scholarships – both are due April 15, 2012 and are available online or the G.O.- Dolph and Karen Ricks Family Scholarship - A $500 non- renewable scholarship will be awarded to three DHS seniors upon enrollment in an accredited college or university. The student must have been a Reagan Middle School Graduate, earned a 2.0 or higher GPA in high school, and been active in school, community activities, and church. Special consideration will be given to Education majors and students who worked as corn detasselers. The Ake L. Dahlquist Memorial Scholarship - To honor the memory of Ake L. Dahlquist, one $1500 scholarship will be awarded to a student who has earned at least a 2.5 GPA and plans to major in Engineering or Business Administration at a four year accredited university.

2. Stop by the library for information on the Black History Bookmark Contest. The winning bookmark will be distributed to all library patrons.
