Thought for the Day: A shut mouth gathers no foot.

1. Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the individuals who broke into the weight room over this past weekend. If you have any information, contact Officer LaMendola. Your identity will remain confidential.

2. Freshmen – Please go to the office to sign up if you want a class T-shirt.

3. Students who wish to play Chess, may do so in the library, before or after school or during lunch periods.

4. Students are reminded not to put latex balloons on their lockers or to bring them into the school. We have some students who are very allergic to them.

5. Hey Key Clubbers – T-shirts are going to be $14 and money is due to Michelle asap. Checks can be made out to DHS Key Club. Thanks!

6. Attention Juniors & Seniors – Final eligibility for Prom will be run March 23rd. You must be passing 5 classes to attend Prom.

7. Any junior or senior girl interested in attending a workshop at Sauk Valley College on women in criminal justice should contact Ms. Durband. The workshop will be March 16th.

8. The WACC tour has been rescheduled to Wednesday, February 29th. Only those students already on the list may attend. Meet in the new gym lobby at the beginning of 1st period.

9. Come show your shamrock spirit in the library. Come in and fill out a shamrock to let us know what you would do if you were a leprechaun at DHS for a day.

10.Congratulations to Mr. Crawford and Kolton Morgan, winners of the Culver’s Dixon Pride Award. Remember to nominate students and staff you see go above and beyond for DHS.

11.DHS will be hosting the IHSA Regional Boy’s Basketball tournament this week. Dixon will play Geneseo tonight, beginning at 7:30. The 3 point contest will precede the game. All tickets are $4, activity cards are not valid.

12.CONGRATULATIONS to the DHS varsity scholastic bowl team, who won the NIB 12 Conference championship Saturday at Dekalb. The team went 5-1 on the day and defeated Kaneland in the championship match. All conference team will be announced later this week: Joey Hammitt led the team with 20 tossups in the preliminary rounds.

13.The Dixon High School Math Team advanced to State in three events, 2 individual and 1 team! Kevin Heath placed 1st (tie)  in the individual Pre-Calculus event and Molly Fane placed 5th in the individual Algebra event. The Calculator Team also placed 1st (tie) which included Scott Goad, Kevin Heath, Kurt Gale, Kayla McGuire, and Molly Fane. We will be going to the State Competition on May 5th.

14.Baseball study tables should report to room 109, Softball report to the Library classroom, Girls Soccer to the cafeteria and Track to room 116.
