Thought for the Day: The trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praise that saved by criticism.

1. Attention Peer Jurors – There will be a hearing on Sunday, January 10th. Be at the Police Department by 5:00 p.m. Please come to the G. O. and sign up.

2. There are several new scholarships available to seniors:
The ARC scholarship is available to students interested in pursuing a career helping people with disabilities. Applications will be available on the school’s website.

The Illinois Elks are offering a scholarship for students interested in Physical & Occupational Therapy majors. Call 1-800-272-0074 for an application.

Best Buy is offering scholarships. Go to www.bestbuy.com/scholarships for more information.

3. There is a job for office work posted in the Guidance Office. Check the jobs board for more information.

4. The 2nd annual Second Look Prom and Homecoming Dress Sale is February 27, 2010. This is a non-for-profit way to give girls a chance to make it to the dance without spending a fortune! We are in need of dresses, all sizes and in great condition for Prom and Homecoming. We are also accepting purses/clutches that would compliment any of the garments. If you have any of these items to donate, please contact Mrs. Hermes in the Guidance Office.

5. There will be a boy’s track meeting on Tuesday, January 12th at 2:30 p.m. in room 212. The first practice will be Monday, January 18th.

6. There will be a girl’s track meeting on Monday, January 11th at 2:30 in room 203.

7. The first Key Club meeting will be Friday at 7:10 a.m. in the auditorium.

8. The Dixon Police Department is requesting your assistance. Anyone with information regarding damage to a teacher’s house last weekend is asked to speak to Officer LaMendola. You may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward if your information leads to an arrest.

TODAY:
Teachers – Please set your recycling out at this time.

Key Club Board Members – Meet in Miss Fort’s room for a board meeting today at 2:30 p.m.

Dixon Public Schools, in cooperation with the community, will provide students with a comprehensive educational program that produces well-educated, self-sufficient, and involved citizens.
