Thought for the Day: If you wouldn’t write it and sign it, don’t say it,

1. Any student who was on the Honor Roll can pick up one free Rockford IceHogs ticket in the Guidance Office.

2. Girls – Please bring in your gently used homecoming and prom dresses for the Second Look Prom and Homecoming Dress Sale on February 27th. Mrs. Hermes will be accepting your donations.

3. Attention 2011 Juniors! Orders may be placed for our very own “purple storm” t-shirts. Contact your junior class officers if you are interested. Show your class spirit by purchasing one! Remember – The storm is on the horizon!

4. Hey DHS! – Wednesday, January 27th is Purple Pride Night in the Pit. We will be honoring our senior wrestlers as they take on Sterling. The meet starts at 5:30 p.m. See you there!

5. Attention students who are eligible for National Honor Society - National Honor Society applications must be completed and returned to the Guidance Office by 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 29th – NO EXCEPTIONS. Incomplete or late applications will not be reviewed. Applications are also available online at the DHS website and can be completed online, printed and returned to the Guidance Office.

6. Innovations is sponsoring a Prom Premier 2010 on Sunday, January 31st at 2p.m. at Innovations in Rock Falls. Call 815-625-8804 for reservations.

7. The Dixon Petunia Festival committee is accepting applications for Petunia Festival Royalty and Pinky Petunia. Juniors must be willing to give of their time freely during the Petunia Festival and must live in Dixon. Applications are in the main office.

8. There will be a Financial Aid Workshop on Wednesday, January 27th at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. Sauk Valley College will give out important information regarding the financial aid process.

9. Attention all freshman and sophomore boys not out for a winter sport – Pre-season workouts and open gyms are currently in swing. Workouts are Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 4:30/5:00, and Sundays from 12:30-2:30. If you have any questions, see Coach Crawford or Coach Burgess.

10. There are several scholarships for seniors who are planning on majoring in agriculture. Stop by the Guidance Office for more information.

11. Any student who is not in Consumer Ed or Economics can sign up to take the Consumer Ed Proficiency test on February 2nd at 2:20 p.m. in room 121. Sign up in the Guidance Office.
