Thought for the Day: When you are in trouble, keep your chin up and your mouth shut.

1. SVCC will have a representative in the Guidance Office on Wednesday, March 10th at 8:00 a.m. to talk to interested seniors. Sign up in the G. O.

2. Juniors – The ZAPS ACT seminar is being offered at DHS March 17 & 18. The cost is $79. Enroll online at www.zaps.com or call 877-927-8378.

3. Dance Team try-outs will be March 16, 17 & 18 from 3:30 – 5:30.

4. The Leo Club is sponsoring a T-shirt design contest until Spring Break. First prize is $50 and the design will be featured on the 2010 Leo Club T-shirts. Turn entries in to the main office or Wes Dempsey.

5. Any Junior or Senior girl interested in attending a “Women in Criminal Justice” seminar at Sauk Valley College on Friday, March 26th, should see Ms. Durband.

6. Sauk Valley Newspapers is sponsoring a Favorite Teacher Essay Contest edition. The deadline to submit entries is March 19th. One winner in each age group will receive a $100 savings bond. 7. Mike Roberts from Herff-Jones will be in the cafeteria on Wednesday, March 17th from 11:00 – 2:30 to pass out graduation announcements.

8. The Library will be closed 4th hour Wednesday.

9. Attention Girls Bowling Team – Turn in your uniform shirts to the AD’s office.

10.The Dixon Park District is inserting small flags along the road on Page Park Drive in an attempt to keep vehicles from becoming stuck in the mud.

11.Cookies and water will be for sale during the Dodgeball Tournament. All proceeds will go to the DHS Relay for Life team.

12.Attention Boy’s Basketball Players – All equipment is due NOW! If you are planning to attend the banquet, money needs to be turned in by Wednesday!

13.The DHS Class Officers will be hosting a Rummage Sale on March 20th from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the DHS cafeteria. If you have items you wish to donate, please bring them to the cafeteria on Friday, March 19th from 2:30 until 6:00 p.m. If you are donating clothing be sure it is clean and in good condition. All items in bags should be labeled. Please do not donate exercise equipment, furniture or any other oversized items. Thank you for your support.
