Thought for the Day: Everyone smiles in the same language.

1. Mike Roberts from Herff-Jones will be in the cafeteria on Wednesday, March 17th from 11:00 – 2:30 to pass out graduation announcements.

2. The DHS Class Officers will be hosting a Rummage Sale on March 20th from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the DHS cafeteria. If you have items you wish to donate, please bring them to the cafeteria on Friday, March 19th from 2:30 until 6:00 p.m. If you are donating clothing be sure it is clean and in good condition. All items in bags should be labeled. Please do not donate exercise equipment, furniture or any other oversized items. Thank you for your support.

3. If you are interested in the Dixon Rural Fire Department’s cadet program, stop by the rural firehouse or see Mr. Eddy.

4. The deadline for the KSB Scholarship has been extended to April 15, 2010. This scholarship is for students who plan to continue their education in a healthcare field. Applications are available at www.ksbhospital.com .

5. Wednesday is the final day to register for AP tests.

6. Hey DHS – The Dixon Pride Team is announcing that Friday is Spring into Spirit Day! We are asking everyone to wear purple and white that day to show their school spirit. You can wear anything that is in line with the school dress code that is purple and white. You may wear bandanas, hats and sunglasses. Let’s show our school pride and spirit! There will be a pep rally at the end of the day to honor outstanding students and introduce upcoming activities and sports. DHS, what’s your color?

7. Attention Girls Soccer Players – Meal forms and money are due to the A.D.’s office or your coach no later than Wednesday, March 17th.

8. There are several scholarships for boys who will be attending the University of Illinois. Stop by the Guidance Office for more information.

9. Summer Driver’s Ed will begin Friday, March 26th. Students who will be 15 by July 31, 2010 may sign up in the Guidance Office. Students must have passed 8 classes in the previous 2 semesters to take the class. Any questions see Mr. Fiorini.
