Thought for the Day: The most destructive force in the universe is gossip.

1. Seniors – This is it! Local scholarships are due Friday!

2. DHS will offer Summer School to those students who need to make up lost credits. The cost of the classes is $110.00 per class. There will be no waivers for tuition. You must pay for the class when you sign up to reserve your spot. Applications are in the Guidance Office.

3. Applications for detasseling are in the Guidance Office.

4. We will be testing on Thursday and will be on an adjusted schedule. Please plan accordingly.

5. Hey DHS! The Dixon Pride Team is announcing that Saturday, May 8th is the “Battle of the Rock River”! Our Dixon Dukes Baseball team will play the Oregon Hawks at the Clinton Lumber Kings stadium in Clinton, Iowa. This is a double- header and we are asking everyone to wear purple. We will try to provide a fan bus. If you are interested, the cost will be $5. Please sign up in the main office. The Dixon Pride Team is sponsoring a raffle for one lucky person to have the opportunity to throw out the first pitch for the Varsity game and receive Dixon Pride apparel. Fill out the form in the main office beginning Wednesday until May 5th. The lucky person will be selected May 6th. So come support our baseball team in this unique game in a semi-professional ballpark!

6. Registration forms for Slo-Pitch Softball are in the A.D.’s office. The deadline is May 5th.

7. Seniors who are currently enrolled in the Sauk Valley Speech/Psych classes must attend classes on Wednesday and Thursday at the regular time.

8. Juniors with a 3.5 or better gpa, who are interested in the field of education should see Mrs. Hermes in the G. O.

9. You may never think of yourself as the answer to someone’s prayer, but every time you donate blood, you are. The hour it takes to donate blood can save up to 3 lives. The spring blood will be Thursday, May 13th. Forms are in the nurse’s office.
