Thought for the Day: It’s okay to ask dumb questions – they’re easier to handle than dumb mistakes.

1. Applications for summer school are in the Guidance Office. The cost is $110.00 per class. There will be no waivers for tuition. You must pay for the class when you sign up to reserve your spot.

2. Applications for detasseling are in the Guidance Office.

3. Hey DHS! The Dixon Pride Team is announcing that Saturday, May 8th is the “Battle of the Rock River”! Our Dixon Dukes Baseball team will play the Oregon Hawks at the Clinton Lumber Kings stadium in Clinton, Iowa. This is a double-header and we are asking everyone to wear purple. We will try to provide a fan bus. If you are interested, the cost will be $5. Sign up by Thursday in the main office. The Dixon Pride Team is sponsoring a raffle for one lucky person to have the opportunity to throw out the first pitch for the Varsity game and receive Dixon Pride apparel. Fill out the form in the main office. The lucky person will be selected May 6th. So come support our baseball team in this unique game in a semi-professional ballpark!

4. The next blood drive will be Thursday, May 13th. Forms are in the Nurse’s office.

5. Attention Football Players – See Coach Agrimonti for information on summer skills camps.

6. Seniors who are a resident of Lee County and will be a full time student at a university in the fall may apply for the Lee County Republican Scholarship. Applications are in the Guidance Office.

7. There will be a short meeting for Cross-Country members concerning summer camp on Thursday, May 6th at 2:30 p.m. in the gym.

8. Students will no longer be allowed to charge lunches in the cafeteria.

9. If you are in Student Council and running for an office, petitions are due to Mr. Eddy by Friday. Elections will be next Wednesday. It is important for all members to be there to vote.
