Thought for the Day: If you blame others for your failures, do you credit them with your successes?

1. Picture re-takes for students and staff who haven’t had their picture taken yet, will be Thursday, September 16th, in the library.

2. Attention Freshmen – If you are interested in becoming a class officer, sign up in the main office! Election information will be out very soon.

3. The Dixon Girls Tennis Team defeated Streator by a 5-0 score. Way to go girls!

4. Anyone interested in joining Peer Jury should see Officer LaMendola in the Guidance Office.

5. Students interested in auditioning for this year’s Jazz Choir need to stop by the choir room to get the information and sign up for a time. All DHS students are eligible to audition. Jazz Choir meets Mondays and Thursdays after school. Auditions are September 7 and 8. See Mrs. Ewers if you have any questions.

6. Friday we will be on an adjusted schedule for a pep assembly following 7th period.

7. Are you interested in being a volunteer intern in the area of politics? Candidates should be organized, competent, outgoing individuals who are eager to learn and are willing to work hard. Candidates should have a strong academic record as well as excellent communication skills. Strong candidates must work well independently and as part of a team. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and access to a car. Volunteers will be trained. See Mr. Eddy in room 305.

8. Hey Key Clubbers – The first meeting is this Friday at 7:10 a.m. in the auditorium! Come and see what we’re all about.

9. There will be a boys’ basketball meeting for any boy who is not playing a fall sport on Wednesday, September 8th after school near the gyms.

10.BLIND team members are reminded there will be a meeting in room 405, Thursday at 7:15 a.m.


TODAY:
Tonight is Back to School Night. Please remind your parents. This is an excellent opportunity for them to meet your teachers and go through your schedule. The evening will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium.

Yearbooks will be distributed after school in front of the main office. If you did not order one, and would like to, see Mrs. Loescher.
