Thought for the Day: Most new discoveries are things suddenly seen that have always been there.

1. You may not think of yourself as the answer to someone’s prayer, but every time you donate blood, you are. Every time you donate blood, you help save a person’s life – a mother, a child, a brother. There is no bigger difference you can make in a person’s life than giving them life itself. The hour it takes you to give blood could even save up to three lives. The DHS blood drive is Thursday, October 21st. Please sign up in the nurse’s office. You will NOT be able to sign up to donate the day of the blood drive. All donors must sign up by Tuesday, October 19th. We need all the donors we can get.

2. Students are reminded – NOTHING is to be taped to the wall above your lockers!

3. There will be a mandatory Boys’ Basketball sign up meeting on Friday, October 22nd at 2:25 in Mr. Porter’s room 121. Any boy grade 9-12 who is interested in playing basketball this year should plan to attend.

4. Anyone interested in wrestling should stop by the athletic director's office to sign up and get the information handed out at the meeting.

5. Congratulations to Senora Fitzanko’s first hour class! They brought in over 90 cans and won the doughnuts and juice for their efforts. They will enjoy their tasty pastries soon. Mrs. Beck’s 1st hour class came in second with 50 cans. The DHS B.L.I.N.D. program and Dixon Food Pantry would like to thank all who participated.

Dixon Public Schools, in cooperation with the community, will provide students with a comprehensive educational program that produces well-educated, self-sufficient, and involved citizens.
