Thought for the Day: Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day that says try again tomorrow.

1. Hey everyone! If you have a BLIND shirt, show your support by wearing it every Thursday! Also, please bring your BLIND goodies to the meeting Thursday at 7:15 a.m in room 405

2. Sauk Valley College will be hosting a College Night on Tuesday, November 2nd from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Over 80 representatives from universities, colleges, technical schools and the military will be available to discuss your educational plans. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain important information. Students should wear college T-shirts on Tuesday!

3. Attention anyone interested in trying out for the 2010-11 cheerleading squad – Tryouts will be held this week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday starting at 3:00 p.m. Please stop by the A.D.’s office to pick up an information sheet. See Mrs. Fox with any questions.

4. Thursday, October 28th during both lunch hours, Student Council will be sponsoring a Food Fight for the United Way outside the cafeteria. $1 a throw or 6 throws for $5 at Dr. Grady!! Proceeds go to the United Way of Lee County. Have fun and help support a great cause.

5. Student Council Members – Still looking to fulfill requirements for the Christmas trip? Sign up to help with the United Way food fight this Thursday. We need 4 Student Council members for A lunch and 4 for B lunch. Also, we need 5 people to help distribute milk jugs to classrooms on Monday morning. Sign up in Mr. Eddy’s room before or after school.

6. The Dixon High School Relay for Life team in honor of “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”, is asking students and staff to wear pink on Friday, October 29th. We will also be selling pink wrist bands so you can show your support. If you know someone whose life has been affected, you can purchase a wristband for $1 from Mrs. Bennett in the nurse’s office or from Mrs. Loescher in Mr. Grady’s office or from Josie Willett. She will be in front of the main office.

7. SVC will be hosting a Softball Camp October 30 & 31. The cost is $20 per session. Registration forms are in the A.D.’s office.

8. Attention Boy’s Soccer – Please remember to turn in your banquet money and reservations to the A.D.’s office. Also, please remember to get $4 to one of your captains by Friday. Thanks!
