Thought for the Day: Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

1. Attention sophomore football players – Please turn in $5 to the sophomore captains (John Thomas or Cameron Hicks).

2. Tennis Girls – Please turn in your number of people attending the tennis banquet, your tennis uniform and your saver cards to Mrs. Bailey in the A.D.’s office.

3. Any boy interested in participating in Track this spring – There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, November 3rd at 2:30 in the west balcony. Even if you are participating in a winter sport, please attend.

4. Homecoming pictures are will be available after school outside the main office.

5. U.S.Bank is offering a scholarship. Go to usbank.com/scholarship for more information.

6. There is a scholarship for Latino students sponsored by Twin Cities Educational Scholarship, Inc. Applicants must have at least a 2.00 gpa and parents are expected to assist with fundraisers during the year. Applications are in the G.O.

7. Hey DHS – The Dixon Pride Team is announcing that Friday is Winter Wild Spirit Day! We are asking everyone to wear purple and white to show their school spirit. You can wear anything that is in line with the school dress code. You may wear bandanas, hats and sunglasses. Let’s show our school pride and spirit! There will be a pep rally on Friday to honor our outstanding students and introduce upcoming activities and sports. We will be on an adjusted schedule for the day and the assembly will follow 7th period. DHS, what’s your color?

8. The Dixon Pride Team is promoting the DHS Fall Play this year. Dracula will be performed November 5th, 6th and 7th. We invite everyone to come out and support our great DHS students. We promise you it will be an enjoyable and wonderful evening. DPT will have a raffle for DPT apparel and items. Turn in your ticket stub or program to the main office. The raffle will be drawn Tuesday, November 9th after school.

9. Eastern Illinois University will have a representative in the G.O. on Wednesday at 8:00. Interested seniors should sign up with Mrs. Bellows.

10.Any freshman or sophomore girl that is interested and would still like to go out for basketball, please stop by the Athletic Director’s office.

11.There will be a boys’ basketball meeting Thursday, November 4th after school near the gym.

12.Attention Seniors – Please bring your deposit and place your orders for your official graduation announcements on Wednesday, November 10th from 7:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. This is the ONLY day orders can be turned in at school. If you miss it, you will need to mail your order to the address on the order form.


TODAY

Tonight is College Night at Sauk Valley College from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Over 80 representatives from universities, colleges, technical schools and the military will be available to discuss your educational plans.

Football players – You can turn in equipment today from 3:05-3:30 p.m. Also, numbers and money for the banquet must be turned in to Coach Luther today.
