Thought for the Day: Don’t overlook life’s small joys while searching for the big ones.

1. Student Council is sponsoring our annual Mitten Tree. It is located in the cafeteria. You may donate any new or lightly used mittens, scarves, or stocking hats. All donations will go to people in the Dixon area who are in need of these items this winter season. You can give all the way up to December 17th. Prizes can be won- see Mr. Eddy for these details.

2. If you have lost something, check out the Lost & Found in the main office asap. All unclaimed items will be taken to the Leydig Center before Christmas.

3. There will be a meeting all baseball players that are not out for a winter sport on Monday 12/20 at 2:20 pm in the cafeteria.

4. Winter Formal tickets are being sold at A and B lunches all week and after school on Friday. They are $7 for singles and $10 for couples.

5. The Music Department's Holiday Concerts have been rescheduled to Sunday Dec. 19th - the band at 2pm and choirs at 3pm in the auditorium. The concerts are free and open to the public. We are collecting Toys for Tots if you would like to donate at the concerts. The class officers bake sale will also be that day in the cafeteria from noon to 5pm. Please consider donating baked goods. See Mr. Boll if you have any questions.

6. There will be a short meeting for any girl interested in playing softball that is not participating in a winter sport Friday 12/17 at 2:20 Room 107.

7. Any girl interested in participating in girls track this spring, there will be an informational meeting Friday 12/17 at 2:30 in small gym.

8. Sophomores and juniors who did not pick up their PLAN test results should see their counselor asap.

9. The DHS Scholastic Team competed in an NIBig12 conference quad meet Monday night. The team went 3-0, defeating Dekalb, Sycamore and Rochelle. The team was led by Kevin Heath with 7 tossups and Joey Hammitt with 6. The squad is now 4-2 in conference play. Congratulations, Scholastic Team!
