Thought for the Day: If you want the rainbow, you have to put up with the rain.

1. If you are interested in performing in the 2011 DHS Variety Show, pick up a form in the main office.

2. Juniors – There will be a meeting Friday morning 1st hour in the auditorium to begin the registration process for your senior year.

3. Do you want to admit a crush? Tell somebody you love them? Or maybe just  show a friend you care? Then buy them Flowers for a Friend! They are on sale through Wednesday during lunch hours. Flowers are 1 for $1 or 6 for $5 and will be delivered on February 11th.

4. The High School Concert Band will perform a winter concert in the auditorium this Sunday, February, 13th at 2:00 p.m. There will be a wide variety of styles from the music of Coldplay, Journey, and Owl City to sailing songs and Louisiana Jazz. Come and hear the performance.

5. Student Council is sponsoring Sadie Hawkins Dance this Friday after the boy’s home basketball game. Come enjoy fun under the black lights! The dance begins after the game, approximately 9:00 and gets over at 11:00. Tickets are sold at the door to DHS students only, sorry no out of town or out of school guests! You must have a student id to get in. Cost is $2 per person. Hope to see you there!

6. The Dixon Pride Committee would like to encourage a white-out at the Boys Basketball game on Friday against LaSalle-Peru. Wear as much white as you can to show your support!

7. Al Morrison Baseball sign-up will be Saturday, February 12th and Saturday, February 26th from 9:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. at the Loveland Community Building.Registration forms are available at sign up or at www.almorrisonbaseball.org .

8. The DHS Class Officers are having a senior T-shirt design contest. The winner will win $50! Forms are in the main office.

9. There is a scholarship for a student whose plans after high school include running and whose running is reflective of a healthy lifestyle. Applications are in the G.O.

10.Thank you to the following students for their help at the Stupor Bowl this past weekend: Shelby Westart. Catherine Weinzierl, Austin Dillon and Mary Beth Johnson.

11.Students who received National Honor Society applications – They are due in the Guidance Office by 2:30 p.m. Thursday, February 10th – NO EXCEPTIONS!

12. Sophomores who are going on the WACC tour on Thursday should meet in the new gym lobby at 7:50 a.m. You will return at 10:00.

All wrestlers need to turn in their equipment and locks after school today or bring it by Coach Seibel's room 212 behind the new gym.

The FAFSA workshop is tonight from 6-8 in room 120. Enter through the cafeteria.
