Thought for the Day: It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up.

1. Applications for the Dixon Petunia Festival Royalty are available in the Athletic Office. Applications are due April 8th.

2. Seniors – Pay close attention to deadlines for scholarships. You must allow time for recommendations and transcripts to be prepared. Local scholarships are now available on our website

3. Detasseling applications for Mr. Ricks and Mr. Randick are available in the Guidance Office. Completed applications can be turned into the main office.

4. There are applications for Bauer Detasseling in the Guidance Office. Stop by and pick one up.

5. Prom Court nominations are currently in the main office. All nominees must attend Prom and have their tickets bought by today. Voting for King and Queen will occur the week of Prom. All nominees must attend DHS. 

6. Midway Drive-In is looking for summer help. Call 847-647-3124 for information.

7. Any student attending Prom that will NOT be attending Post-Prom MUST have a permission slip filled out and turned in by April 20th. Forms are available in the main office.

8. Northern Illinois University is sponsoring a Rural Health Careers Camp from June 8-10 at NIU in Dekalb. Interested freshmen, sophomores and juniors may pick up more information and an application in the Guidance Office. The deadline is April 15th.

9. CPR class will start Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the wrestling room. It should last about 3 hours.

10.Library books are due on Wednesdays. Look at the stamp in the back of your book to see if it is due this week.

11.Friday is the last day to drop off your yellow pass in the library to complete registration for the Read for a Lifetime program.

12.On Friday, April 8th at 6:30 p.m. in the DHS cafeteria, there will be a meeting for anyone interested in playing football at DHS next year. Coach Smith will be here to talk with players and parents about the upcoming football season.
