Thought for the Day: Opportunity dances with those who are ready on the dance floor.

1. Congratulations to the 2011 DHS Envirothon team. The team competed for the first time yesterday in Freeport against 31 other high school teams. They placed 5th and won $3000 in scholarship money! This year’s team members are Kacie Dillow, Vivian Villegas, Joey Hammitt, John Thomas and Justin Hohlen. Great job!

2. Detasseling applications for Mr. Ricks and Mr. Randick are available in the Guidance Office. Completed applications can be turned into the main office.

3. There are applications for Bauer Detasseling in the Guidance Office. Stop by and pick one up.

4. Prom Court nominations are currently in the main office. All nominees must attend Prom and have their tickets bought by today. Voting for King and Queen will occur the week of Prom. All nominees must attend DHS.

5. Midway Drive-In is looking for summer help. Call 847-647-3124 for information.

6. Any student attending Prom that will NOT be attending Post-Prom MUST have a permission slip filled out and turned in by April 20th. Forms are available in the main office.

7. Northern Illinois University is sponsoring a Rural Health Careers Camp from June 8-10 at NIU in Dekalb. Interested freshmen, sophomores and juniors may pick up more information and an application in the Guidance Office. The deadline is April 15th.

8. Detasseling forms for Mr. Bach and Mr. Johnson are in the Guidance Office.

9. Any cheerleader who did NOT attend yesterday’s meeting needs to see Coach Fox ASAP to get your fundraiser and camp information.

10.Freshmen – Only one more day to order your T-shirt! All orders must be in by Monday, April 11th. Turn them into the bandroom, office or a class officer.

11.There is a scholarship for a senior who will be attending Sauk Valley College next year majoring in Theatre/Performing Arts or Speech/Communications. Applications are in the G.O.

12.Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the DHS cafeteria, there will be a meeting for anyone interested in playing football at DHS next year. Coach Smith will be here to talk with players and parents about the upcoming football season.
