1. The Senior Leadership Scholarship is available online. It is sponsored by Mr. Boll and Class Officers, and Mr. Eddy and Student Council. The deadline is May 16th.

2. All library books are due on May 17th. Please see us in the library if you need your book to complete a class project.

3. Dixon Public Schools is now taking applications for SWAP (Student Worker Assistance Program) for summer 2013 work.  SWAP allows students to work off their athletic fees by working various maintenance, custodial, and summer school jobs throughout the district.  SWAP applications can be picked up and dropped off starting Friday, May 3rd in Dr. Grady’s Office or the Athletic Office. SWAP applications can also be downloaded online at  www.dixonschools.org . The due date for SWAP applications is 4 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013. Any applications received after this date will be put on our waiting list, and are not guaranteed work during the summer. There will be a student and parent informational meeting on Wednesday, May 22nd at 6:00 p.m. in the DHS auditorium.    This meeting is mandatory for incoming freshman and students new to the SWAP program. It is recommended for those returning to the program.

4. Students will not be allowed to charge lunches in the cafeteria for the remainder of the year. Students with a negative balance must pay it off as soon as possible.

5. SENIORS: If you have earned Final Exam Exemptions and did not use them all first semester you need to let Mrs. Bellows know in the Guidance Office which exam or exams you want to exempt this semester. You have until Thursday, May 16th to let her know.

6. There are detasseling forms in the Guidance Office.

7. Golf – There will be a short meeting for anyone interested in playing golf next fall on Wednesday, May 15th at 11:00 a.m. in room 120.

8. There are a limited number of 2013 yearbooks left to be sold. See Mrs. Bally or Mrs. Loescher as soon as possible. Yearbooks are $50 and will be delivered the week of May 20.

9. Sauk Valley College will host a Fire Science Open House on Thursday, May 23rd from 5-8 at the college. Call Sauk for more information.

10. LEE COUNTY REPUBLICAN CENTRAL COMMITTEE – The Lee County Republican Party is offering two scholarships in the amount of $1000 and two scholarships in the amount of $500 to students who reside in Lee County. Students must be accepted to the University of their choice as a full-time student. Applications are available in the GO and the deadline is June 14, 2013.

11. Mr Ricks and Mr Randick's detasseling meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday May 21st has been changed to Thursday May 23rd. The meeting is still at Reagan in the cafeteria at 5:30 pm. If you have any questions please contact Mr. Ricks or Mr. Randick.

12. If you are interested in attending the Rural Health Careers Camp at Rockford College, June 26th - June 28th see Mrs. Ebert in the GO to pick up an application. The camp is open to Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior students. Approximately 45 students will be chosen for this opportunity. The cost for the camp is $50.

13. Summer School applications are available in the Guidance Office. Computer Credit Recovery classes will be offered for those students who need to make up credits. The cost is $50 and there will be no waiver of fees. Classes will be June 12 to July 12 from 8:00 to 11:30. Applications and money are due in the Guidance Office by June  7th.

14. Tennis players who have not turned in equipment should do so on Thursday, May 16, after school in the band room.

15. Next year 's AP Lit students - If you did not pick up your summer reading material and handout, please see Mr. Padilla in Room 405 as soon as possible.

4. BLIND - There will be no BLIND meeting this week.

5. All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will receive a preliminary class schedule for the 2013-14 school today.  Please check over your classes for 1st and 2nd semester.  If you have any questions, please see your counselor.
