Thought for the Day: It takes courage to tell someone your dreams.

1. Seniors – Don’t wait until the last minute! Local scholarships are available on the Dixon Public School’s website. All applications are due April 30, 2010, no exceptions.

2. Prom tickets are on sale now during A & B lunch until April 23rd for $40 each.

3. DHS will offer Summer School to those students who need to make up lost credits. The cost of the classes is $110.00 per class. There will be no waivers for tuition. You must pay for the class when you sign up to reserve your spot. Applications are in the Guidance Office.

4. Applications for detasseling are in the Guidance Office.

5. The Dixon Pride Team is promoting Girl’s and Boy’s Track this week. We are asking everyone to attend the Dixon Invite for the girl’s on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and Boy’s Dixon Invite on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Come out to the track and support your Dukes and Duchesses.

6. Who will wear the crown? The Mr. School competition is Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Peter Balser, Nile Baker, Nick Davis, Wes Dempsey, Ben Thornton and Alejandro Valdez will be escorted by beautiful ladies as they show their school spirit, display a hidden talent, walk the cat walk for casual wear by decades, and answer a surprise question. Watch, laugh, and have a good time! The cost is $2 with a school id and $3 without.

7. The Varsity Baseball team moms would like to have DHS students come out to the game on Saturday for a “White Out Day”. There will be treats and give-aways.Come cheer on the team. The game starts at 11:00 a.m.

8. Hey! Do you want to wear a hat/bandana on Friday? Make a $1 donation on Thursday to Mrs. Loescher, Mrs. Bennett or Mrs. Bailey and help support Relay for Life.

9. The following individuals won a prize for “The Wizard of Oz” raffle: Mrs. Fox, Mrs. Hermes, Mr. Burgess, Mrs. Lyons, Mrs. Frye, Mrs, McWethy, Mrs. Fitzanko, Mrs. Bally, Mrs. Marco, Mrs. Rice, Kimberly Reiners, Teea Lewis, Chris Reines, McKenzie Schauff, and Tiffany Hunt. Please pick up your prizes in the main office.
