The fourth grade students at Jefferson School had the opportunity to take a tour of downtown Dixon on September 20^th and September 21^st.  Dixon Main Street sponsored the tour for the students.  We started at the Public Safety building and walked 2.5 miles around the town.  Some of the stops included the Nachusa House, the Arch, Court House, Wings of Peace, Historic Center, and Waterfront.  At each monument or building, the students heard some dialogue about the architect, design, or other points of interest.  The students were then asked to make a model, draw a picture or write a short essay with regard to the monument or building.  We ended the field trip with a delicious lunch provided free of charge from Mama Cimino’s.  A very big thank you to the Dixon Main Street Committee and Mama Cimino’s Pizza.
