Jefferson Spelling Bee Print

Jefferson 4th graders held their annual school-wide spelling bee on Friday, January 29th at 10:00 am in the school gymnasium. Two students (and an alternate) were selected from each classroom after competing in classroom bees.

 

Contestants and alternates practiced at home, and attended two morning practices with coordinator & pronouncer, Mrs. Bork to prepare for the Bee. Judges were Mrs. Andersen, Mrs. Heaton, and Mrs. Morse.

 

After 12 rounds, we had our winner! Congratulations to:

Champion Jason Hofilena (Mrs. Morse’s Class)

& Alternate Sarah Fane .(Mrs. Andersen’s Class)

 

Jason and Sarah will represent our school at the Regional Spelling Bee for Lee/Ogle County held at Dixon High School on February 25th!
