Jefferson Elementary's Wild About Reading Assembly

On November 13th Jefferson School had our Accelerated Reader Kick Off assembly.  It was announced that our point goal for this year will be 13,000 points.  To achieve this goal, the students will read books, take AR tests, and accumulate points based on the book's difficulty.  If the students make this goal our principal, Mr. Gould will have to eat a bug!  The students voted for this choice with the other choices ending in a tie.  We have over 4,500 points at this time and  Mr. Gould doubts if we can make it.  Hopefully, we'll prove him wrong.

At the assembly, we all enjoyed listening to the song "Wild Thing".  Representatives from each class came up to share their class animal facts. Many students were wearing masks or carrying their animal puppets. Mrs. Mathewson, our reading teacher had each student who recieved a certificate stand up.  Over 50 students were standing.  She also gave Ice Hog tickets to these students.

Students, keep up the hard work and be Wild About Reading!!!
