Wednesday morning, December 19th, was a wonderfully busy morning for 2nd graders here at Lincoln School. Our performance of the holiday musical "Twinkle & Shine" was viewed by a standing-room only audience of parents and guests, as well as our 3rd graders. Everyone enjoyed the show. The entire 2nd grade class participated and did a wonderful singing, dancing and speaking their parts! It was a great way to get everyone into the holiday spirit. Congratulations!

Fun with Fathers was held at Lincoln School on December 5th and 6th.  Second graders had the privilege to have Mike Jones, Pastor from the First United Methodist Church read, “Don’t Squeal unless It’s a Big Deal” (Dealing with Tattling). Third grade had the privilege of having Chief Danny Langloss of the Dixon Police Department read, “Chester Raccoon and the Big Bad Bully”  (Bully Prevention). After the story was read, students and their father/father figure were able to participate in a variety of activities set up by Jeff Masters and Brian Scheidegger, the Lincoln physical education teachers.  This was an opportunity for adults to make an impact in a child’s life while laughing and learning. We would like to thank all the adults and students who were able to come in and be with us on these two days.

Jefferson Math-A-Thon Print

Fourth and fifth grade students at Jefferson School will once again be participating in the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Math-A-Thon program.  Through the Math-A-Thon program, students not only build and practice essential math skills covered in the state standardized tests, but they also learn that even as kids they can make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Last year, Jefferson students raised $2325.  Since Math-A-Thon began at Jefferson nearly a decade ago, students have raised a total of $16,982.  Wouldn’t it be fabulous if we could surpass the $20,000 milestone this year?  Every dollar raised helps support the St. Jude mission of finding cures and saving the lives of children in communities around the world.

Students will be introduced to the program and given sponsor forms prior to the Thanksgiving Break.  They will then complete math “Funbooks” during early December and collect pledges from their sponsors.  All donations will need to be turned in prior to Winter Break.  Thank you in advance to the students, staff, and Dixon community for being so generous during the holiday season.
