Jefferson staff created a festive atmosphere throughout the day by dressing up for Halloween 2012.  This year's theme was "Super Hero."  The teachers and staff received numerous compliments from parents and students alike on the cohesiveness and creativity of the costumes.  The students definitely benefit from the enthusiasm and cheerfulness of the staff at Jefferson Elementary.

Flag CerimonyFriday, September 14th, marked an important day in our nation's history.  Francis Scott Key wrote "The Star-Spangled Banner" in 1814.  It was set to music written by John Stafford Smith, and became our National Anthem in 1931.

Here at Lincoln Elementary School, we celebrated this special day with a recitation of the Pledge of  Allegiance introduced by Lincoln's Principal, Mrs. Sue Johnson; followed by everyone singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" led by Lincoln's Music Teacher, Ms Nadia Wirchnianski.  As part of the NAfME (National Association for Music Education) National Anthem Day Celebration, we joined schools all over the country that morning - in the spirit of Patriotism and passing on our cultural heritage to our students.

I would like to thank our many helpers that we had to host our 2nd Annual PBIS End of the Year Celebration! This was a great way to end the school year and celebrate our children Being Ready, Safe and Kind throughout the school year.
Although the weather was warm, the children had a great time participating in all the activities. Each class was able to participate in 10 different activities. The activities included basketball, hurdles, chicken tag, hula hoop, jump rope, bowling, shot put, bean bag toss, dance, and scooters.
We were able to have such a celebration thanks to the staff at Washington School. Thank you to the teachers and staff for your help and encouragement with our PBIS expectations and participating in our End of the Year Celebration. A big thank you to our parents of Washington School for helping at many of the activities and encouraging our students. Lastly thank you to our members from the community who helped with the activities and talked and encouraged our students. Special thank you to Fire Chief Tim Shipman, Captain Mike Wilcox , and the many fireman who came that day. Also thank you to Lieutenant Brad Sibley from the Dixon Police Department and the police officers who also stopped by to support and encourage our students.
With the help from all of the above, we were able to create lasting memories for our students and reward their good choices for a job well done. Thank you for your support and encouragement for our students!
