RMS Congratulates Music Contest Competitors Print

Congratulations to the music students from Reagan Middle School who recently participated in the Illinois Grade School Music Association’s District V Music Contest in Geneseo. Both the band and choir received Division II ratings from the judges for their performances. Students also participated in the Solo & Ensemble portion of the contest.

Students receiving Division I ratings for Solos were: Hannah Acker, flute; Katlyn Bay, flute & vocal; Maggie Bushman, alto sax; Megan Carney, vocal; Caroline Costello, oboe; Katie Hammitt, trumpet & vocal; Jacob Harrison, trumpet & piano; Mary Hildebrand, vocal; Patrick Johnson, tuba, piano & vocal; Emmaline Linton, vocal; Bailey McClain, clarinet; Zoey Myers, vocal; Samantha Odenthal, oboe & vocal; Joelle Schielein, clarinet; Ian South, trumpet; Evan Tschosik, alto sax; Rachael Turffs, clarinet; Renata Young, flute.  Students receiving Division I ratings for Ensembles were: Hannah Acker & Katlyn Bay, flute duet; Faith Swartz & Katie Hammitt, trumpet duet; and Kaylee Rice & Melissa Goken, flute/clarinet duet.

Students receiving Division II ratings for Solos were: Jamie Altenburg, clarinet; Dillon Burdick, vocal; Taylor Dalton, vocal; Becca Drezen, alto sax; Aaron Faivre, trumpet; Faith Garnhart, flute; Alex Helander, trumpet; Serenity Laurino, flute; Ahleah Lopez, clarinet; Ellis Williams, vocal.

Students receiving Division II ratings for Ensembles were: Bailey McClain & Sam Merriman, clarinet duet; Faith Garnhart & Hannah Schlosser, flute/clarinet duet; Erin Williams & Sam Merriman, flute/clarinet duet; Rachael Turffs, Molly Fane & Matt Sanders, clarinet trio; Aramis Hussung, Justin Wiggins & Patrick Johnson, trumpet/trombone/tuba trio; Devin Attig, Ben Drezen, Joshua Payne & David Whitcombe, percussion quartet.
