Dixon High School Athletics is excited and pleased to announce our new web page!  To find information about Dixon High School sports, go to the “School” tab and scroll down to the “DHS Sports” link.  Double click and you will enter a new website devoted to Dixon High School sports.  If you would like to receive e-mails about Dixon High sports, click on the “Register” tab and enter your information.  Once your information is entered, you will join an e-mail list to receive news about Dixon High School sports.  Our new sight offers pictures that can be viewed and purchased.  Game and meet cancellations and reminders will be posted on the ticker scrolling across the top of the screen.  This new website highlights all the amazing happenings of Dixon Athletics.  If you have any questions, please contact Jon Empen, Activities Director, at 815-284-2237.
 
Jefferson Jumps for Hearts Print

Jefferson School students raised over $4000 for the American Heart Association through their Jump Rope for Heart program.  Over 100 students collected funds for this worthy cause. During our jump rope unit, February 15th-25th, 2011, Jefferson students learned about heart health and how nutrition and physical activity helps us live longer, healthier lives.  Thank you to all parents for their participation and support.

Girls Varsity Bowling Team Wins Sectional Print

The Dixon Girls Varsity Bowling team has done it again! The Duchesses won their second straight sectional title last Saturday at the LaSalle-Peru Sectional. The girls held on to first place after the first set of games and never let go of the top spot. Senior Skyla Strum earned fourth place as an individual with a high game of 253. The Duchesses will begin State round play Friday morning at the Cherry Bowl in Rockford. The top 12 teams will then advance to Saturday's final rounds. The team hopes to best last year's 8th place win. Team members include Strum, Gina Romero, Samantha Bay, Autumn Day, Aireal Cook, Christie Beightol, and Devan Gearhart.
 
Mission To Space a Success Print

102 students attended, along with their parents, the Mission to Space family event night at Lincoln School on Thursday, January 13th.  They gym was filled with kids launching rockets, steering moon rovers, making constellations, and much, much more! The gym was buzzing with space exploration! If you did not get a chance to attend this night, you will have two more events you can attend. There will be two more family event nights at Lincoln School; March 15th and May 19th.  Mark your calendars! These Discovery Center family outreach events are great fun! See you then!
