Early Bird Pre-k is excited to announce that Jim Gill is returning to Dixon to present his Family Room Tour for children and families enrolled in Early Bird, Open Sesame, and ECE preschool classes.

Jim Gill is known as a musician and author, but he is also, by training, a child development specialist with a graduate degree from the Erikson Institute of Chicago. Because of his studies, his goal has always been to promote active play between adults and children with his music.

The concert will be on March 20th at 6:00 PM in the small gym at Reagan Middle School.  Please park and enter by doors 11 or 16.

Thursday, February 23, 4th and 5th grade students gathered in the Jefferson Library to celebrate the reading of the REBECCA CAUDILL book award nominees.  Students were required to read at least three of the 20 book nominees.  They then cast their votes for their favorite books with KNUCKLEHEAD:  TALL TALES & MOSTLY TRUE STORIES ABOUT GROWING UP SCIESZKA  by Joe Scieszka receiving the most votes.  Now students anxiously await the state winner which will be announced in March.

 
Ned Show Store at Jefferson Print

Global Citizenship Project 2012 Print

Students in Mrs.Kitzman’s 7th grade challenge social studies class are designing an action plan to eradicate hunger in their community and abroad. Carlie Sherman and Lizzie Ohme were selected as the class captains after presenting their global cause that aligned to the Millennium Development Goal called “Reducing Poverty”.  The humanitarian organizations the students plan on supporting are Heifer International and Dixon Food Pantry. The students believe that they all share a part in securing a just and sustainable world in which every child can achieve their potential.
